researching the monsters we create

I've always been fascinated by the way horror reflects society, and this dissertation allowed me to explore that passion in depth. Focusing on the evolution of the male vampire in cinema, I examine how changing portrayals of Dracula and other vampires mirror evolving expectations of masculinity, from the monstrous outsider to the romantic anti-hero.
